Jordan Spears, a four-time NFR qualifier in the bull riding who has also been team roping this year, will miss the beginning of the summer run due to a lacerated liver.

The injury occurred when he was bucked off of Red Rocker at the Ed Miller Xtreme Bull Riding in Oregon.

“The last couple months have been a blast rodeoing close to home, working both ends of the arena, and having friends and family there to support me,” Spears wrote on Instagram. “Unfortunately, there will be a slight delay to my summer run! On Thursday night at the Union, Oregon Extreme bulls I was stepped on by a bull and ended up Lacerating my liver and breaking a couple ribs! Just a small setback!”

Spears last made the NFR in 2019 and is No. 38 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings right now.
