Barrel racer Nikki Vanderlee qualifies to run at Calgary Stampede

Nikki Vanderlee found out Wednesday that she was headed to the Calgary Stampede.

Because the WPRA decided not to sanction the rodeo this year, the Calgary Stampede decided to hold a qualifier for five competitors to get in. Vanderlee made the fastest run of the entire qualifiers at 15.753 seconds but finished sixth overall. However, the Stampede announced a sixth barrel would be added earlier this week, giving the spot to Vanderlee.
