Bareback Rider Cole Franks Clinches His Second Trip To The Thomas & Mack

Bareback Rider Cole Franks has secured his second National Finals Rodeo qualification by positioning himself into the No. 10 spot in the PRCA World Standings.

Franks earned the Resistol Rookie of the Year in 2021 as he was also making his debut at the Thomas & Mack where he finished out the National Finals at No. 3 in both the World and NFR Average Standings.

A total earnings of $116,426 garnered Franks a well deserved position in the Top 15 for the 2022 regular season.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

National Western Stock Show and Rodeo, $11,290

Franks started out the season with a big win at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo where he tied for first place in the Finals with fellow NFR qualifier Rocker Steiner. Franks earned a check in each round and took home a total of $11,290.

Snake River Stampede, $7,788

At one of Idaho’s highest-paying rodeos, Franks was third in the Long Round and first in the Short Round to win the Average by four points over Jacob Raine.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

Nebraska’s Big Rodeo, 90 points

Franks turned in his highest marked ride of the season at Nebraska’s Big Rodeo with a 90-point ride on Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Big Kat to take home the championship.

Tri-State Rodeo, 89.5 points

An 89.5 point ride on Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Daddy’s Girl secured Franks the win at the Tri-State Rodeo along with a check of over $3,800.

NOTABLE WINS

Deadwood Days of ’76 Rodeo

In the one-head rodeo in South Dakota, Franks was 88 points to win by three points over a quartet of cowboys who split second with 85 points. The win earned Franks nearly $4,000.

Ogden Pioneer Days, $5,231

Franks took home the title of co-champion at Ogden Pioneer Days with an 85.5-point ride to secure a check of $5,231. He shared the win at the Utah rodeo with four-time NFR qualifier R.C. Landinfham.

Dixie National Rodeo, $4,112

An 87.5-point ride on Brookman Rodeo’s Joe Dirt in Jackson, Mississippi secured Franks the win at the Dixie National Rodeo earning a total of $4,112. He was a half-point better than Lane McGehee.
