18-Year-Old Jeter Lawrence Goes 90 in Bracket 3, Round 2, Advances to Semifinals in San Antonio

In his San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo debut, rookie bull rider Jeter Lawrence immediately made a name for himself.

In Round 1, he rode Gritty of Legacy Pro Rodeo for 85.5 points, but that was only the appetizer for Round 2.

In his second career Texas Swing out, Lawrence rode Angels Landing for 90 points, the first one of his young career.

“This has been a big dream, I’m just glad it’s finally here, I’ve been waiting for this my whole life,” he said. "(That bull) was good, he shook me loose, but I just knew if I kept going I could make it.”

Lawrence currently ranks No. 21 in the PRCA World Standings after winning a total $4,750 in San Antonio. He has started this season 10-for-18, including a 2-for-2 performance in Uvalde to get into San Antonio.

Lawrence finished second in the bracket behind Jake Gardner, who made $7,000 as the only one to ride in Bracket 3. Brady Portenier and Gavin Hauck also advanced.
