101-Year-Old Veteran Honored in Mandan, North Dakota

Vernon Marvin Shelton served in multiple branches of the military

Vernon Marvin Shelton, 101, enlisted in the United States Army as a teenager. After completing his service, he re-enlisted in what would later become the U.S. Air Force.

Chad Berger, organizer of the North Dakota Roughrider Cup, honored Shelton with one of the same custom rifles awarded to the rodeo champions.
