Hailey Kinsel has made a statement at the 2020 NFR. She and Sister are the best in the world, and there is not much to dispute that after her fifth go-round win in 9 rounds at the NFR. Her 16.81-second run bested Wenda Johnson’s 17.18 time.
Kinsel leads the world standings with $261,076 and has all but secured her third consecutive Gold Buckle.
For Hailey to lose her lead, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi would need to win the round and NFR average and Kinsel would have to not earn any money in Round 10 or in the average.
“This is insane,” Kinsel said. “I wanted to have a good Finals and I prepped to have a good Finals, but you can’t even get this by just work. It’s like super-natural stuff going on. I’m up here going, what next?”
Kinsel will know exactly what she needs to do to win a Gold Buckle, so expect a celebration right after her ride if she accomplishes her goal.
“I’m a numbers person. I’m going to look at it and see what I need to do in the last round,” she said. “If I need to make a clean round there’s a chance I’ll change horses. I’m shuffling back to the bottom again, so I’ll be sixth out after the tractor. It looked great tonight, from what I could tell. But it’s definitely firmed up and packed up, so I want to watch it close and see.”
Kinsel is also approaching a RAM Top Gun Award which goes to the highest earner at the NFR.
