It was a busy week in rodeo with the Texas Swing nearing its end. Here are a look at five fast facts you may have missed from the last week in rodeo.
No 1: Sage Newman continues to dominate the regular season. Newman has now been first in the PRCA World Standings 38 of the last 52 weeks. Newman currently is No. 1 in the world with just over $95,000 earned.
No. 2: San Angelo has a chance to make a big impact on the PRCA World Standings. As of Tuesday, only one cowboy inside the top 5 in the World Standings is leading San Angelo with that cowboy being Leighton Berry.
No. 3: Sage Kimzey is dominating Xtreme Bulls events and it’s why he is already in the top 20 in the world with only 19 outs. Kimzey is 6-for-8 in XBulls events with his most recent appearance being a win at the San Angelo XBulls.
No. 4: The High Desert Stampede wrapped up over the weekend. The Tie-Down Roping was an impressive display throughout the rodeo. There were 10 times faster than the 2022 winners’ times of 8.4 seconds at this year’s rodeo.
No. 5: With San Angelo wrapping up this week we are still searching for our first 90-point ride.
