Zeke Thurston Goes 92.75 Points to Cinch Third Ponoka Stampede Title

Zeke Thurston claimed his third Ponoka Stampede title on with a 92.75-point ride Sunday night.

Drawing Calgary Stampede’s Dandy Delight for the Showdown Round, the three-time World Champion put together a ride good enough to win by two and half points.

“This will make your whole Fourth (of July). A guy can go to 13 rodeos and win $10,000 or come to one and win 20,” Thurston said.

Thurston sits No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings and this win can solidify that he will stay at the top and with the win, will continue to gain ground on World No. 1 Sage Newman.

Chase Brooks took second with a 90-point ride.
