Zac Dallas Talks Rookie Title, National Finals Rodeo Qualification and Canadian Finals Rodeo

For your unofficial Rookie of the Year Zac Dallas is geared up for the CFR and NFR.

To say that New Mexcio saddle bronc rider Zac Dallas ran away with the Resistol Rookie of the Year Race would be an understatement. Dallas’ ended the 2024 regular season with an almost $100,000 lead to be your Resistol Rookie while also finishing ranked No. 13 in the World.

“It’s definitely a reflief, this week, I’ve kind of been stressing and rodeoing hard all month and it’s nice to know it’s done now. The position is secured so we don’t have to worry about that. We get five rounds up here to just go have fun and ride bucking horses. It’ll settle in pretty quick,” Dallas said.

Just a little further down the road is th National Finals Rodeo where, although he is a ways out, Dallas says a Gold Buckle is still his plan.

When Dallas looks back on his year, the turing point came when he won the Casey Tibbs Match of Champions when he got a good draw and a win to get things rolling.

“There were some slow parts of the summer too... A guy’s got to keep his head down and keep it simple and keep riding,” he said.

Dallas is heading to the Thomas and Mack as the Resistol Rookie of the Year but he is still gunning to keep climbing.
