Wyatt Maines Nears Biggest Weekend of Career After Strong Showing in San Angelo

Wyatt Maines has a chance to win more money than he ever has in Rodeo thanks to a big ride in San Angelo

Wyatt Maines was marked 86.5 points on Pickett Rodeo’s Night Limit and all but secured his spot in the Finals in San Angelo.

Maines, who has never won more than $14,000 in his career traveled down from Canada to make the ride on Night Limit, a horse he knew plenty about.

“Just feels like you gotta do your job when you draw them. It makes it a lot easier to show up, that’s for sure.”

For Maines, the time away from home isn’t easy, but thanks to his wife, who is taking care of their newborn and their livestock, he is able to make the trip down.

“Got a new baby and a two-year-old and she’s doing it, dealing with the cows. I’m out here having fun.”

Maines currently sits in a tie for No. 3 with his 86.5-point ride.
