WPRA Breakaway Roping World Standings, Sept. 6: Kelsie Domer Jumps to No. 8, Jordi Edens Moves Inside Top 20

The 2023 season has been one to remember in the breakaway roping as the competition is some of the fiercest the sport has ever seen. As for the bubble watch, cowgirls such as Madison Outhier, Bradi Good and Erin Johnson are fighting for their shot at the National Finals Breakaway Roping with just a little over three weeks remaining in the regular season.

No. 8 Kelsie Domer, $79,900

Kelsie Domer captured the win at the Ellensburg Breakaway Roping as she stayed consistent in Round 2 and into the Short-Go where she turned in a quick 2.4-second run to secure the top spot. Domer turned in an aggregate time of 7.4 seconds on three head to lock in her position at No. 1 in the Average to pull a check for a total of $6,973. While in Washington, Domer also won the Walla Walla Breakaway Roping with a 2.3-second run to add an additional $5,734 to her total earnings. Domer is just one hundred dollars away from breaking the $80,000 earnings mark this season as she sits No. 8 in the World Standings.

No. 13 Kendal Pierson, $57,623

Kendal Pierson remains on the bubble, however, has moved from No. 15 to No. 13 in the World Standings with the help of a third-place Average check at the Ellensburg Breakaway Roping. Pierson tied for No. 3 in Round 1 with fellow Top 20 cowgirls Martha Angelone and Bradi Good. Although she was out of the money in Round 2, Pierson got the job done in the Finals with a 2.8-second run. Overall, Pierson pulled a check for a total of $4,350 in Ellensburg, bringing her total earnings to $57,623.

No. 19 Jordi Edens, $50,413

Jordi Edens has entered into the Top 20 in the WPRA World Standings with $50,413 in total earnings after securing a check for over $4,100 at the Filer Breakaway Roping as well as a fifth place check in Walla Walla, Washington where she stopped the clock at 2.7 seconds. Edens has just one National Finals Breakaway Roping qualification under her belt and is gunning for a second as the Texas cowgirl sits No. 19.
