Just four days remain in the 2023 regular season and the cowgirls in the barrel racing are moving at lightening speeds to secure their position inside the Top 15.

The WPRA World Standings are sure to shift over the weekend as 12 of the Top 20 are headed to Sioux Falls to compete for their portion of the purse at the Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup including Wenda Johnson, Stevi Hillman, Hailey Kinsel and Summer Kosel.

No. 8 Wenda Johnson, $111,700

Wenda Johnson and her equine partner Mo claimed multiple checks over the weekend to collect $3,717, moving up one position to No. 8 in the WPRA World Standings. Johnson secured third-place at the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo in Stephenville, Texas, following Top 15 cowgirls Sissy Winn and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi. A 14.07-second run in Performance No. 2 of the Omaha River City Rodeo locked Johnson into first place, taking home $1,840, bringing her total earnings to $111,700.

No. 10 Stevi Hillman, $109,031

Just one week ago, seven-time NFR cowgirl Stevi Hillman made the jump from No. 15 to No. 12 and has now entered into the Top 10 with just over $109,000 in total earnings after claiming third place at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair and Rodeo (Texas) and taking home the title in Springhill, Louisiana. A 15.99-second run at the Springhill PRCA Rodeo secured Hillman the win and a check for $1,858. Hillman kept her momentum going following her big win in Pendleton as she now sits No. 10 in the World Standings.

No. 12 Hailey Kinsel, $105,775

The reigning World Champion is an unfamiliar position, getting closer to No. 15, not No. 1 as the summer goes on. Kinsel spent most of July and August in the Top 5, but has fallen out of the Top 10 after going to just nine rodeos in September and pulling a check from two of them.

No 13. Summer Kosel, $101,181

Summer Kosel is gunning for her first NFR qualification as she currently sits No. 13 in the World Standings after cinching a second-place check at the Omaha River City Rodeo with a 14.23-second run. Kosel then followed up with a 16.97-second run in Stephenville, at the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo to claim the No. 4 spot. Overall, Kosel collected a total of $3,186 over the weekend as she sits on the bubble with $101,181 in earnings.
