The Top five in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Barrel Racing World Standings have had the same ladies for almost the entire regular season. Reigning World Champion Jordon Briggs holds tight to No.1 while Dona Kay Rule and Wenda Johnson have had outstanding seasons.

However, the ladies battling for a place in the Top 15 have been giving it their all during these last few weeks.

15. Paige Jones, $74,856

Jones’ No. 1 horse that she has already had so much success on has been out for majority of the season with an injury, but Cotton made his return at the Farm-City Pro Rodeo where they were the only pair to run sub 17. They took hone almost $8,000 from Hermiston before Jones would pull checks from the Bozeman Stampede, Missoula Stampede, Omak Stampede and the Canby Rodeo. Jones’ most recent win came at the Gem State Stampede where a 17.22 got the Oklahoma cowgirl another win.

14. Michelle Darling, $75,870

Darling and her phenomenal mare, Martini, have been working well and they two took the momentum from winning the Dodge City Roundup and ran with it. A 16.16 earned them the win at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo and almost $4,000 and they finished at the top of leaderboard at the Gooding Pro Rodeo as well with a 16.88 second run. Darling is around $1,000 ahead of Jones but the season is not done yet.

13. Margo Crowther, $76,858

Crowther is pulling checks from all the right places. She pulled through with a win at the Omak Stampede that brought in around $3,000 and she has stayed steady and consistent with making runs that place her in the money. With smooth runs that placed her second and third at the Canby Rodeo and Caldwell Night Rodeo, Crowther added almost $7,000 to her season earnings. Her horses have been performing during the northwest swing and Crowther is working at staying inside the Top 15.
