RodeoHouston

RodeoHouston proved once again to be an unforgettable event as top-tier barrel racers competed for the prestigious $50,000 prize within NRG Stadium. Yet, amid fierce competition, only one emerged victorious.

Leslie Smalygo was the cowgirl to make it happen as she changed the course of her season with a winning run in the Championship Shootout to make a massive move in the WPRA World Standings. Competing alongside Smalygo on Championship Sunday was Lisa Lockhart, Paige Jones and Megan McLeod-Sprague.

No. 1 Leslie Smalygo, $67,213

Leslie Smalygo dominated RodeoHouston with the fastest runs in both the 10-Man Round and 4-Man Round as she locked in a 14.35-second run in the Championship Shootout, securing the win despite tough competition against fellow NFR cowgirls Lisa Lockhart and Paige Jones. Her victory propelled her from 43rd to the top of the world standings, with earnings jumping to from $9,213 to $67,213 as she took home $58,000 from RodeoHouston alone.

No. 2 Lisa Lockhart, $51,616

Lisa Lockhart’s performances in Super Series 1, the 10-Man Round, and the Championship Shootout of RodeoHouston led to a significant rise in the WPRA World Standings, as she moved from No. 9 to No. 2. Securing fourth place in both the Semifinals and 10-Man Round secured Lockhart’s a position in the Final Round. Although she finished second in the Championship Shootout, Lockhart’s took home a check for $27,500.

No. 18 Paige Jones, $20,750

Paige Jones advanced out of RodeoHouston’s Super Series 1, clinching third place in the qualifiers and securing a spot in the semifinals. Her consistency continued into the Championship Shootout, where she secured the same third-place position with a time of 14.71 seconds, earning $10,000.
