WPRA Barrel Racing Standings Update: Jordon Briggs and Rollo Remain No. 1 Moving Into the Summer Run

The competition is heating up as the Summer Run is officially underway and the best of the best are hitting the rodeo road in hopes of claiming their spots within the Top 15 of the WPRA World Standings.

As the standings are sure to shuffle with the Summer Run we are taking a look at the Top 20 ladies in the WPRA Barrel Racing Standings.

1. Jordon Briggs - $87,509

World Champion Jordon Briggs propelled her way up the standings early in the season as she snagged the coveted RodeoHouston Title for the second straight year, which came along with a check for $58,000. Due to the magnitude of this win Briggs has only competed in just nine rodeos this season including multiple of the tournament-style winter rodeos such as Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin. Briggs pulled a check at each of these securing her spot further at No. 1 in the World Standings.

2. Kassie Mowry - $66,744

Texas cowgirl Kassie Mowry brought the house down with a run of 13.95 in the Final Round of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and walked away with Championship Title and $22,500 added to her earnings. Mowry stayed close to home throughout the Winter Run and snagged another big check at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo as she placed in each round to secure the No. 1 spot in the Average and a check for $25,283.

3. Sissy Winn - $52,408

Sissy Winn placed third in the Final Round of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with a 16.47-second run pulling in over $13,700 in earnings early in the season. Winn kept up the momentum moving into RodeoHouston as she advanced into the Championship Shootout Round where she finished No. 4 on the leaderboard and taking home a check for $12,000. Winn has continued to pull check along the way at rodeos including the Walker County Fair and Rodeo (Texas) and Red Bluff Round-Up (California).

4. Jackie Ganter - $51,118

Jackie Ganter turned in an identical times of 16.30 seconds in the Wild Card Round and Final Round of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Round to take home the Title and a check for over $25,000. Shet went on to place first in both rounds of Bracket 1 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and ultimately splitting the No. 3 spot in the Finals which came with another $9,000 in earnings. Ganter last competed on the Weekend of May 20, winning a sixth place check at the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo (Oregon).

5. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi - $47,551

Tonozzi kicked off 2023 with a win at the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo winning over $6,322 in Odessa, Texas. The cowgirl headed north to the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo where she advanced into the Finals and cashed another check worth over $11,000 as she finished out at No. 3. Later in March, Tonozzi came in at No. 2 on the leaderboard at Rodeo Austin with a time of 14.96 in the Finals earning $9,118.

6. Hailey Kinsel - $47,541

Reigning World Champion Hailey Kinsel took home a check at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as she placed second in the Final Round with a 16.35 on her renowned palomino Sister earning over $17,500 total. Kinsel’s paydaya continues at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo as she came in at No. 3 in the Final Round. Kinsel has also pulled in at least $1,000 on Weekend of June 10 from the Coleman PRCA Rodeo (Texas) and the Woodward Elks Rodeo (Oklahoma).

7. Kelly Allen - $44,179

Kelly Allen claimed the No. 1 spot at Rodeo Rapid City (South Dakota) with a 13.08-second run taking home over $4,000 in earnings back on Feb. 4. An additional $5,798 was collected by Allen as she placed in the Average at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. Allen has picked up multiple first place checks this season as well, including the Panola County ProRodeo (Texas) and Ozark Empire ProRodeo (Missouri).

8. Wenda Johnson - $43,694

A 17.09-second run secured Wenda Johnson the win at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo on April 16, where she pulled a check for $8,146. Johnson also claimed the No. 1 spot in Rounds 1 and 2 of the Clovis Rodeo and finished fourth in the Final Round to reserve the No. 1 spot in the average and a check for $9,447 to win her second PRCA Playoff Rodeo of the month. Johnson is fresh off WPRA Athlete of the Week honors for a win at the Strawberry Days Rodeo (Utah) and a second place finish at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo (Nebraska) over the weekend.

9. Jimmie Smith-Tew - $40,271

Jimmie Smith-Tew captured the winning run with a 14.83 at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo which came with a check of $4,783 in Denver. Smith-Tew would go on to secure a hefty check at the La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros (Arizona) as she cinched the Average win taking home $10,130 in February. The cowgirl took home another check worth five figures in April as she placed in Round 1 and the Average at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. In May and June, Smith-Tew has gotten paid at 8-of-12 rodeos she has competed in so far.

10. Lisa Lockhart, $38,124

Lisa Lockhart kicked off her 2023 season early as she pulled in just over $8,000 with an Average win at the Badlands Circuit Finals. She then made moves at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo where she placed in the Wild Card Round and took home $7,750 in earnings. In the last two weeks, Lockhart has gone from No. 16 to No. 10 by placing in four consecutive rodeos, including a win worth more than $4,000 at the Woodward Elks Rodeo.

11. Dona Kay Rule - $40,235

Dona Kay Rule hit the rodeo road this Winter as she took home checks from Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston. All of that was a precursor to her best performance of the Texas Swing, when Rule pulled a check for over $12,000 at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. She has brought in first place checks this year at the ABC ProRodeo (Texas) and Ada ProRodeo (Oklahoma). Rule has not competed at a PRCA rodeo since May 20.

12. Summer Kosel - $39,284

Summer Kosel made it through to the Championship Round at RodeoHouston where she finished No. 7 on the leaderboard earning $7,750 along the way. Kosel also finished first in the Average at the Guymon Pioneer Days (Oklahoma) in May after positioning herself at No. 1 in the First Round and staying in the money for Round 2 to take home over $6,200. Kosel is up seven spots since the beginning of May by pulling in more than $1,200 from the Parker County Sherrifs Posse Frontier Days (Texas), Woodward Elks Rodeo and Buffalo Bill Rodeo (Nebraska), the latter of which she won on June 17.

13. Molly Otto - 38,622

North Dakota cowgirl Molly Otto collected the majority of her earnings at RodeoHouston as she advanced to the Championship Shootout Round where she clinched the No. 2 spot with a run of 14.75 and a check for $28,500.

14. Sara Winkelman - $35,600

Sara Winkelman reserved the Average win at the North American Championship Rodeo to start off her 2023 season strong. The Minnesota native also took home the title at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo (Texas) earning just under $5,000 on March 18. Winkelman has also added to her season earnings by finishing second at four rodeos, the highest paying of them being nearly $3,500 at the Arcadia All-Florida Championship

15. Taycie Matthews - $35,538

Taycie Matthews was in the money for all three rounds of Super Series V to add $4,500 to her earnings at RodeoHouston. Matthews has won first place checks at the Central Ark PRCA Rodeo and Fort Herriman PRCA Rodeo (Utah). In June, she has already placed at four rodeos, including her Fort Herriman win.

16. Margo Crowther - $35,533

Just $5 outside the Top 15, Crowther is as close as can be to her second consecutive NFR berth. The Florida native qualified for the Final Round of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and although she was out of the money in the Championship Round the cowgirl walked away with $10,500 in earnings. She added another $6,500 for a win at the Dixie National (Mississippi) and $3,500 for a second place finish at the Southeastern Livestock Expo (Alabama). Crowther has made just two runs since April 14.

17. Bayleigh Choate - $34,685

Reining Resistol Rookie of the Year Bayleigh Choate has once again found herself inching closer to the top of the World Standings. Choate picked up a check for $17,000 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo making up the majority of her earnings. She also banked over $2,800 in Clovis.

18. Emily Beisel - $34,421

Three-time NFR qualifier Emily Beisel pulled multipe Go-Round checks at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as well as the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Beisel claimed also the No. 1 spot at the Duncan Pro Rodeo (Oklahoma) on May 15 on with a run of 15.19 seconds. Beisel has already hit the pay window at rodeos in June to move from 21 to 18 in the world.

19. Ilyssa Riley - $33,426

Riley won a good portion of her earnings at the Texas Circuit Finals at the very start of the season as she placed high in each round as well as claiming the No. 1 spot in the Average. Riley’s winnings totaled out to just under $9,500 in Waco. Riley also won about $3,000 each at the National Western and San Angelo.

20. Shelley Morgan, $33,037

The four-time NFR qualifier won $10,000 of her total money at RodeoHouston as she made it through to the Championship Round. Over the Winter Run, Morgan also took home Go-Round checks from the San Antonio and San Angelo.
