The fight for a spot in the Top 15 continues in the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings as these athletes have their sights set on a National Finals Rodeo qualification with just six weeks remaining in the season.
Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi holds steady at No. 1 as her earnings quickly approach the $200,000 mark. The closest competition comes in at the No. 15 spot as the ladies on the bubble differ in earnings by a small margin.
No. 5 Taycie Matthews, $101,790
Taycie Matthews has added a number of wins to her resume this season and has worked her up up through the Top 20 with $101,790 in total earnings. Just one week ago Matthews was sitting No. 7 in the World Standings and was able to make her move after securing third place at the Farm-City Rodeo where she turned in a run of 17.11 seconds. The No. 3 spot in Hermiston was worth over $4,800 and gave Matthews the push she needed to enter into the Top 5.
No. 7 Ilyssa Riley, $94,209
Ilyssa Riley is gunning for her first National Finals Rodeo qualification as she sits No. 7 in the World Standings. Riley claimed third place at the Lawton Rangers Rodeo with a run of 17.32 seconds where she picked up a check for $2,654. Riley also pulled a check from Sikeston, Lovington and Lamar bringing her total earnings to just over $94,200.
No. 16 Stevi Hillman, $78,087
Stevi Hillman is currently on the bubble as she sits just outside the Top 15 with over $78,000 in earnings. The seven-time Nation Finals Rodeo qualifier cinched the win at the Owyhee County Rodeo with a run of 17.32 seconds just before claiming second place at the Cache County Fair And Rodeo. Hillman has brought in $5,685 within the month of August assisting her in her jump to No. 16 in the World Standings.
