World No. 1 Justin Shaffer Makes 3.5-Second Run to Advance in Fort Worth

The top-ranked steer wrestler in the world backed it up with the second fastest run of the rodeo in Fort Worth

Justin Shaffer backed up his No. 1 ranking by winning Bracket 2 with a 3.5-second run to advance to the Semifinals of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

The 3.5-second time is the second fastest of the FWSSR through 14 performances.

“I just keep worrying about making my run, getting the best start I could, which we did that part,” he said. “I knew if I could get all of the barrier, we could be fast.”

Shaffer, who is No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings with $18,912, won $2,500 to finish second in Bracket 7 behind Tanner Brunner, who made $3,500 for a first place finish in Round 1 and second place finish in Round 2.
