Dean Thompson was the hottest bareback rider in the world entering the season’s first big indoor rodeo and he backed up his No. 1 ranking in the PRCA World Standings by winning Pool 1.
Thompson was 169 points on two and won Round 2. He was five points clear of Yance Day, the Round 1 winner in Pool 1, in the two-head Average. Will Lowe is the other bareback riding from the pool on to the Semifinals.
“So much happier than last time,” Thompson said after his rematch with Cervi Championship’s Tory’s Boyfriend on Friday afternoon. “I was just so thankful that she lined out this time and really gave me a lot to work with.”
