World Champion Barrel Racer Jordon Briggs Looks Ahead to the Summer Run on Her Great Horse Rollo

Jordon Briggs chats with Steve Kenyon about the Summer Run and where she is at going into it.

The 2021 World Champion Barrel Racer Jordon Briggs is coming into this Summer Run unranked as her great horse, Rollo, has been sidelined with a torn ligament. This past weekend, Briggs announced the gelding return to the arena.

“So in 2021 I broke my ankle. I could not ride a horse February, March or April. I actually started rodeoing at Guymon and so I have to remind myself that I am good at challenges because that was the year I won the World,” Briggs said.

The two years following her World Title, Briggs had a successful winter that left her with the ability to make strategic and also family oriented decisions during the Summer Run. That is something she is thankful for as she heads into 100 Rodeos in 100 Days.

“I want to see how my horse feels and how it’s going to start off and then make my decision from there,” she said.
