Westyn Hughes Stops the Clock In Time To Cinch The Round 2 Win In San Antonio

Tie-down roper Westyn Hughes hustled to get the job done in San Antonio with a run of 8.3 seconds to get the Round 2 win.

Hughes, the No. 1 ranked tie-down roper in the world, has been bringing the heat down south to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Hughes is now tied atop Bracket 3 with Chet Weitz, the Round 1 winner, with $2,500 apiece.

“This is awesome, gotta keep mashin’ on the gas right here and keep going like I’m fiftieth not like I’m first,” Hughes said.

Hughes and will return for one last run in Bracket 3 on Wednesday night as he works to reserve a spot in the Semifinals.
