Wenda Johnson Wins San Angelo For Second Time in Last Four Years

Wenda Johnson also won San Angelo in 2021

Wenda Johnson set the pace in Round 1 and never looked back, winning the Average in San Angelo with a time of 44 seconds on three. Since 2020, Johnson now has two wins and a runner-up finish at this rodeo.

In Friday’s Finals, Johnson placed seventh with a 14.29-second run, but her times of 15.66 and 14.05 in Rounds 1 and 2 helped her hold off the competition by a comfortable margin. Tiany Schuster was second at 44.35 seconds and veterans Dona Kay Rule and Shelley Morgan rounded out the Top 4.

Johnson entered San Angelo No. 4 in the World and will likely jump to No. 2 after bringing in nearly $21,000 total at the season’s final Texas Swing Rodeo.
