We Interview Stetson Wright Following his Night 1 Win at San Antonio

In the first of two performances for Bracket 1 at the San Antonio Rodeo, All-Around World Champion Stetson Wright came out on top in the saddle bronc riding, notching the highest score of the night and earning $1,5000 for his 88-point ride on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Pendleton Whisky’s Rage.

“I was tickled pink,” Stetson says of drawing that horse. “I called Wyatt Casper and talked to my brothers, and we decided to go double on him, and it couldn’t have felt any better.

He was just one point and one spot ahead of brother and reigning Saddle Bronc Riding World Champion Ryder Wright, who went 87 to take second and $1,000.

“Everything’s been going so good,” said Stetson,” from the bull riding to the bronc riding. I just couldn’t be happier.”

All of the Bracket 1 contestants will compete again tonight, with the highest total money earners in each event after two perfs moving on to the Semi-Fianls. But even with another round to go, both Wright brothers are in good position to advance.
