Waylon Bourgeois Wins Long Round and Finals at Resistol Rookie Roundup

Waylon Bourgeois was the star of the bareback riding Friday and Saturday inside Cowtown Coliseum.

He kicked off The Cowboy Channel’s Rookie Roundup presented by Resistol with an 83 point ride on United Pro Rodeo’s Jungle Cat on Friday night.

On Saturday, Bourgeois advanced to the four-man Shootout with 79.5 points before the most explosive ride of the rodeo.

Bourgeois was was 85.5 points on Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Faded Nite, which was the highest score of the rodeo and his season.

“Anytime you can get one of those Pickett horses, it’s gonna be good,” he said.

Bourgeois won almost $4,000 total at the event, which counts toward the Resistol Rookie Standings only. Ricky Williams was second with 83.5 points and Bodee Lammers was 79 for third.
