Tuf Cooper continued to rope with world-class quality by following up his second place finish at RFD-TV’s The American with a first place finish at the Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo.
“Momentum is what carries you and gives you a good chance to win,” he said. “I think it’s all about momentum. That’s what my trainer texted me, he said, ‘you got all of the momentum now so just keep on pushing forward with it.’”
Cooper was the last tie-down roper of the entire rodeo and he stopped the clock at 7.6 seconds to secure the title and a payday of over $7,000. King Pickett and Chris McCuistion split second with a time of 7.8.
“I knew I was fast, honestly, I wasn’t sure exactly how fast because there was a lot of stuff going on within the run,” he said.
Cooper is second in the tie-down roping world standings behind 2013 World Champion Shane Hanchey.
