Tilden Hooper won the bareback riding in Semifinal No. 1 with 89.5 points aboard Pickett Rodeo’s Shady Nights.
He said he knew he had a good draw when several of his fellow bareback riders told him before the ride they’ve wanted to draw that horse.
“You know they (Pickett horses) are going to be big, you know they’re going to jump in the air and give you a chance most of the time.”
Between the Wrangler NFR and San Antonio, Hooper welcomed a new-born son.
