Ty Erickson Keeps The Momentum Rolling Into Austin

Ty Erickson threw his steer to be 4.7 in Austin which put him at No. 4 in on the leaderboard with eight performances still to go.

Rodeo Austin is one head and the top contestants in each event come back for a final round. A 4.7 could be good enough to bring Erickson back or it could be bumped out.

“The committee wanted one [steer] for everyone, which is awesome. But we’ve got some steers that dang sure run in here and some that are fresher so the score is going to play a lot into who wins it this year,” Erickson said.

Erickson has been having success everywhere he has gone recently, making his job as fun as it can be.

“When you can busy this time of year, it makes it a lot better. You can go a week between rodeos pretty easy, so when we’re busy like this is makes it a lot more fun,” he said.

Taz Olson, Sterling Lambert and Justin Shaffer are the three bull doggers ahead of Erickson. Performance Four is loaded with talent so it is now a waiting game to see if Erickson’s 4.7 will bring him back.
