Tuf Cooper had two rounds wins and a second place finish at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, raking in some serious money as the top earner in Bracket 5 with $7,000 and securing a spot in the Semifinals.
He talks to reporter Bradie Jill Jones about riding his horse Jewel for the first time in a major rodeo, his almost disastrous victory lap while taking . a selfie video, and his history at the San Antonio rodeo.
“San Antone, yah know, it’s one of the best rodeos of the year,” Cooper says. “They take the top 40 or 50 guys in the world, so it’s hard to qualify itself, and then once you’re here, the competition’s really stiff. I’ve never won first place, but San Antone has always been good to me. Hopefully I’ll keep pushing forward, and I’ll have my chance this year.”
