Tristen Hutchings, ranked No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings, is back on top of the leaderboard again this year at the Reno Rodeo after a powerful 90-point ride on the bull Bad Habits from Flying U Rodeo — the same bull he rode for 90.5 points last year when he won the event.
“I had a good idea of how it was going to go,” Hutchings said. “Pressure is a privilege, so I was excited.”
Carrying serious momentum into 2025, Hutchings has racked up major wins, including a $65,000 payday at RODEOHOUSTON. That victory shifted his mindset for the season.
“I realized the caliber of bull rider I can be,” he explained.
Before the summer rodeo run began, Hutchings spent time with 2024 World Champion Josh Frost, fine-tuning his approach and sharpening his focus on chasing a gold buckle of his own.
“God humbles me when I need humbling and gives me success when I need success — He works in mysterious ways.”
With another strong start at Reno, Hutchings is picking up right where he left off and looks locked in for another big summer run.
