Tristen Hutchings made a clutch ride on Thursday night in Denver to advance to the Semifinals in the No. 3 spot from Pool 7.
After getting bucked off in Round 1 Thursday afternoon, the breakout bull rider of the 2022 NFR responded with 87.5 points aboard Too Far Gone of Cervi Championship Rodeo in Round 2 later on that night. It won him the round and also bested Stetson Wright’s 87-pointer as the best bull ride of the rodeo through 14 performances.
“Just had to bare down and kind of get it done,” he said. “I’m usually really good into my hand, but I’ve been struggling, so I was glad to get one away from my hand.”
Trey Holston was the best bull rider in Pool 7 with 166 points on two and Colton Byram also advanced with a 2-for-2 performance. Those two along with Hutchings will all compete again Saturday in the Semifinals on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
