It was a big weekend for Trey Benton III who made a 90-point ride earlier in the week at the Spanis Fork Xtreme Bulls and followed that up with a win at the Days of ’47 rode with another 90-point ride.
In total, Benton made over $25,000 on his way to the top 15.
After his Gold Medal win at the Days of ’47 rodeo, Benton reflected on his recent success and being able to travel the country with his family.
“It’s great. We have made such great memories out here. In the arena out of the arena... we are living the American dream.”
It was a rematch for Benton, who was bested by his draw two times before, but he felt different about it this time.
“That bull has got me down twice pretty quick. Once at the NFR and once to win Pendleton. Came to Salt Lake and had a lot of confidence coming in. I wasn’t going to let him get me down.”
Benton summed up what his recent success means for his season outlook with one simple sentence.
“It’s gonna make my summer a lot better than it was.”
