Travel partners Luke Potter and Chance Theissen tied with a pair of 10.4 seconds runs to be the fastest calf ropers in Performance One of the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo in Missouri.
“Lots of things have been going out of control recently but I’m happy that things are starting to turn around and hopefully we keep it going through the end of the year,” Potter said.
Both cowboys knew it came down to doing their job but it wouldn’t be possibly without their equine partners. Potter’s horse, Snoopy, is solid and consistent while Theissen is just starting to click with his new horse, Harry.
“I think I’ve had him three weeks now and we’re just kind of now rolling and getting the feel of each other and getting the consistency but he’s really easy, probably the easiest horse I’ve ever rode so it makes it fun when you have that,” Theissen said.
Potter and Theissen have the lead by almost two seconds but some of the top tie-dowb ropers in the world are yet to go in Sikeston.
