After posting two great times at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Tristan Martin is your Timed Event Athlete of the Week. After the great weekend, the two-time NFR qualifier secured his spot in the Semifinals.
Martin opened Bracket 2 the fastest time we’ve seen in San Antonio in 2024 with a 3.3-second run, earning him $2,500. In Martin’s second run, he failed to place in the round, which meant he would need a big run in Round 3 of Bracket 2.
He would do just that with a time of 4.3 seconds which placed second behind Mike McGinn’s 3.5-second run. The second-place finish earned Martin an additional $2,000 which moved him on in the rodeo with $4,500 earned. He is now one step away from his second trip to the Finals in San Antonio, the other came in 2022.
The two paychecks were the first of any significance this season for Martin who has now earned just over $5,500 on the year. Martin currently sits No. 46 in the PRCA Steer Wrestling World Standings, but has an opportunity to quickly climb in the standings in San Antonio.
