Shad Mayfield has tallied over $63,000 already this season after a win at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Mayfield is the only athlete to earn over $40,000 so far this season and is your Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
Mayfield opened the FWSSR with an 8.3-second run and a 16.2-second run. Even after a less-than-ideal second run, Mayfield advanced to the Semifinals. From there it was domination. Mayfield won the Semifinal with a 7.5-second run to move on to the Finals where he took the rodeo with a 7.8-second run.
The win earned Mayfield over $25,000 at the rodeo in total and pushed his lead in the Tie-Down Roping World Standings to over $40,000.
Mayfield has made it clear that he wants his regular season earnings record back and is off to a great start.
