It was a strong showing for tie-down roper John Douch over the weekend. Douch earned more than $6,500 thanks to solid showing at three different rodeos.
Douch began the weekend with a seventh-place finish at the Woodward Elks Rodeo. Although he didn’t finish in the Top 5, his 8.8-second run still earned him over $1,600.
Douch’s big win came at the Parker County Sheriffs Posse Frontier Days and PRCA Rodeo where he took the title after a 7.5-second run, which matched his fastest run of the season. The win, which was his second in consecutive weekends, earned him just about $3,400.
Douch wrapped his weekend up with a third-place finish at the Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo where he placed third to earn another $1,800.
With the big weekend, Douch finds himself at No. 14 in the PRCA World Standings, up from No. 16 to begin the weekend, with $35,773 earned. He was outside the Top 20 at the beginning of May.
