J.D. Struxness notched his first win at Rodeo Austin as he made his presence known in the final set of steer wrestlers to become the Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
A win in Round 1 followed by consistency in Round 2 and the Finals, Struxness claimed the top spot in Average with 11.8 seconds on three head.
After capitalizing on the format at Rodeo Austin as well as his horsepower, Struxness added just over $12,000 to his earnings.
Currently ranked No. 6 in the PRCA World Standings, Struxness is aiming for his sixth qualification to the National Finals Rodeo and is positioning himself for success by maintaining his position within the Top 15.
