Hunter Herrin has been on a heater in March and it did not stop in Rodeo Austin.
After finishing second in Houston, Herrin followed it up by winning Rodeo Austin with a 7.1-second run in the Finals to edge out World No. 1 Riley Webb by two-tenths of a second. Herrin took home more than $14,000 from the rodeo to jump Shad Mayfield for the No. 2 spot in the world. The 7.1-second run was his fastest time since the 2021 NFR.
Herrin, a 12-time NFR qualifier, has been rising quickly in the PRCA World Standings. He has won about $40,000 this month, which he started at No. 14 in the world. The Oklahoma native is coming off a season in which he finished No. 4 in the world and made a career-high $258,613.
