Bareback rider Tim O’Connell has won more than $68,000 this year and is currently No. 2 in the world, sitting about $10,000 behind Tilden Hooper.
On Western Sports Round-Up earlier this week, O’Connell and Amy Wilson re-watched some of his best rides of the season.
On his 94-point ride on Gun Fire at the Riggin’ Rally in Weatherford: “I’ve probably watched that ride about 1,000 times now, over and over, just re-living that day. The Riggin’ Rallies are so special because it’s all your peers. I mean if there’s a bareback rider out there, he’s entered in ‘em.”
On his 88.5-point ride on Meat Sweats at the High Desert Stampede: “I hadn’t been on Meat Sweats in awhile and he was kind of hard to track to be honest with you, it was everything just to kind of keep my chin down and follow him around the corners.”
