Tie-Down Roper Caleb Smidt Off to an Early Start Towards a Fourth World Title

Three-time World Champion Tie-Down Roper Caleb Smidt turned in a time of 7.5 seconds to secure himself a check of $28,914 as the round winner for Night 1 in the Thomas and Mack.

“It’s just another rodeo, I try and stay thinking like that. I just keep trying to make good runs and I have a great support team with my family behind me,” Smidt said.

Smidt is sitting at No.2 in the World Standings following Night 1 of the cowboy’s eighth appearance at the National Finals Rodeo.
