Tie-Down Roper Caddo Lewallen Suffers Hamstring Tear

Caddo Lewallen started his ProRodeo career off strong. In fact, he was the Rookie of the Year in the Tie-Down Roping in 2004. But when things started to slow down, he decided to take some time off, five years to be exact, and start a family.

He’s been back at it now for four years and in 2020, Lewallen’s been having the best season of his career at the age of 36.

Currently sitting at No. 5, he’s looking to make it to his first NFR, but due to a recently incurred injury, Lewallen’s spot in the top 15 could be in jeopardy.

Unfortunately, Lewallen has severely damaged his hamstring, tearing it all the way from the bone. Surgery may be his best option, but according to Dr. Tandy Freeman with Justin Sports Medicine, there’s still hope he’ll be able to compete with a compression suit.

Lewallen will join Western Sports Roundup later this week to talk in more detail about his injury, treatment options, and plans for the rest of the season.
