Blake Ash is the fastest run of Round 2 in San Antonio as he shut the clock off at 8.4 seconds to claim the go-round and cinch the $2,500.
After only going to two other rodeos this season and being a 9.1 in Round 1, Ash knew he needed to speed things up in Round 2 and he did just that.
“It’s great. I’m just riding an older horse so he’s been really good, I just didn’t want to haul his wheels off, just take care of the good ones,” he said.
Ash shaved almost a whole second off of his Round 1 time to win it and he has the chance to do it again in Round 3 and cinch a spot in the Semifinals.
Also pulling checks in Round 2 were John Douch, Blane Cox and Kyle Lucas.
