The Windy Ryon Memorial Roping Results

The 48th Annual Windy Ryon Memorial Roping took place May 27-29 in Fort Worth, Texas.

John Bland led in the steer roping with an average time of 66.6 seconds on four head.

“I was fortunate to draw some good steers, my little horse worked outstanding I thought,” Bland said.

Maddy Deerman was named the Windy Ryon Breakaway Roping Champion, winning both the Short-Go and the average with a time of 14.10 seconds on three head.

Trevor Hale, who is currently sitting at No. 1 in the All-Around Resistol Rookie Standings, won the second Go-Round as well as the average with a time of 31.1 seconds on three head.

The Windy Ryon Memorial Roping has been committed to providing scholarship funding for many years contributing to organizations such as Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show and North Texas High School Rodeo Association.

The very first Windy Ryon Memorial Roping occurred in 1973 and has continued to grow with rodeo professionals such as Joe Beaver, Roy Cooper and Trevor Brazile competing in this iconic event.
