The Resistol Rookie Race In Saddle Bronc Is Already One To Watch

It is still early in the 2022 rodeo season, but the Resistol Rookie Race is on.

Waylon Bourgeois is leading in the bareback riding with $6,523 and Colton Clemens is right behind him with $6,075.

However, the saddle bronc rookies are off to a hot start this year. The top four have already cashed in more than $10,000. Cash Wilson leads the pack with Lucas Macza, Damian Brennan and Kody Rinehart keeping the pressure on.

Wilson is sitting No. 15 in the World with a 78.7 average score, 91% riding percentage and three go-round wins so far. His highest score this year has been an 88-point ride at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

With San Antonio underway and Houston, San Angelo and more big rodeos coming up, the rookies have their work cut out for them.
