The PRCA World Standings in the Bareback Riding Are Extremely Close Heading into the Summer Run

Three cowboys are battling it out for the No 1. spot in the bareback riding

The competition is tough in the bareback riding as reigning World Champion Keenan Hayes leads the PRCA World Standings by about $1,000.

Over the weekend, Hayes won checks at five rodeos, the highest being worth $1,913 at Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo (Colorado) to push past RodeoHouston Champion Leighton Berry.

Berry, a Texas native, recently went back-to-back at his hometown rodeo, the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days in Weatherford. He had previously held the No. 1 spot since the end of March, and while his victory was ultimately not enough to keep pace with Hayes, it did help him stay ahead of 21-year-old talent, Cooper Cooke, who is looking for his first NFR in 2024.

The young talent continues to prove himself against some of the best bareback riders in the World. With $93,113, he is sitting No. 3 in the World Standings, just $1,110 behind Hayes and $200 behind Berry. Over the weekend, he won both the Elizabeth Stampede and the Eagle Rodeo (Idaho).
