The Cowgirl Channel officially launched on March 1, 2023 outside Rural Media Group’s headquarters in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Alongside Founder and President Patrick Gottsch, Mayor Mattie Parker shared the exciting news that March 1, 2023 would be recognized as Cowgirl Channel Day.

WHEREAS, Rural Media Group has built state-of-the-art broadcast studios in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards, with programming focused on rural America, western sports, and those that love the western way of life through RFD-TV, The Cowboy Channel and now - The Cowgirl Channel; and,
WHEREAS, women played an important role in settling the west and have been competing in rodeos, equine competitions, and western sports for decades, but their rich stories have yet to be the focus of other national television networks; and
WHEREAS, the Cowgirl Channel is the first television network dedicated primarily to women in western sports and to the heritage of the cowgirl and the modern-day cowgirl. The Cowgirl Channel will reach nationwide audiences, starting with the network’s launch today; and,
WHEREAS, the Cowgirl Channel is proud to plant its boots in the heart of the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
NOW THEREFORE:
The City of Fort Worth does hereby recognize and proclaims the 1st day of March 2023:
