Team Roper Logan Olson talks Rodeo Austin, Cinch Timed Event Championship and BFI

Logan Olson was up at Rodeo Austin but before he got there he was helping multiple cowboys at the Cinch Timed Event Championship in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Erich Rogers was one of those cowboys that Olson roped with and Rogers ended up winning the event.

“It is really a cool event. The cowboys there are phenomenal. It’s very nerve-wracking helping but I feel very fortunate to be part of it and to be able to help those guys, the small little piece that I do,” Olson said.

Olson mentioned how the caliber of cowboys competing at the Cinch Timed Event is another level. The versatility that they have to have to be competitive is beyond what most think. Shad Mayfield, a World Champion Tie-Down Roper, and Cole Patterson, a World Champion Steet Roper, are on the list of cowboys that shined in all aspects.

After Rodeo Austin, Olson is headed to the Bob Feist Invitational where he will be competing in their newest addition, the Legends Roping. This is a roping is for those over the age of 40 who have not made the NFR in the last five years.

“I’m really looking forward to that. As a guy that doesn’t go full time anymore, it’s honestly getting hard to compete with the kids. And the BFI is an extremely tough roping, so the Legends Roping, I think is going to bring a lot of us older guys back out. It’s going to be fun,” Olson said.

Olson roped with Boogie Ray in Austin to be a 10.3, putting them out of the chance to make it back. However, with the BFI coming up we will see more of Logan Olson soon.
