Utah’s Days of 47 in Salt Lake City is coming up in July. As they continue to expand with the goal of supporting the Western way of life, team penning is coming up in a big way.
“Team penning is strong, strong, strong on the track in things that families can do, have a lot of fun, get out there with your horse. And the fans like it,” Tommy Joe Lucia said.
Team Penning will be held each day of the Days of 47 where the Top 4 then return during the rodeo. It is also bringing what will be a brand new concept to team penning in that this competition will be tournament style.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the kind electricity in the building, if you will, when they are putting the pressure on them like that,” said Cody Wood, Executive Director of the USTPA.
