Tanner Tomlinson edged Britt Smith by less than $1,000 on the head side to be named Resistol Rookie of the Year in 2020.
It was a close race all year and Tomlinson was able to beat Smith because to his win alongside Brady Norman at the Buffalo PRCA Pro Rodeo on Sept. 19. Tomlinson finished 28th in the world with $22,534 last year.
Tomlinson, who is just 20, is significantly younger than his new partner Patrick Smith, who is 41. Smith has won two Gold Buckles and been to the Wrangler NFR 12 times.
