Dean Thompson, Caleb Bennett and Jacek Frost Split Second Bareback Riding Semifinal in Cheyenne

The bareback riding on Saturday very tight at the top at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Dean Thompson, Caleb Bennett and Jacek Frost were all marked 85.5 points to split the win.

“It’s so important in a big show like this (to capitalize on a re-ride), Thompson said. “This is the most fun rodeo I’ve ever been to.”

“That’s a really good horse...He was just awesome,” Bennett said of his dance partner Outlaw Tunes. “Gives a guy a chance to do his job and kind of have some fun while doing it.”

Evan Betony and Tim O’Connell were both slotted next at 85 points and there were also three cowboys marked 84 points, so a total of eight bareback riders were between 85.5 and 84 points.

Because of the ties, there will be 14 bareback riders instead of 12 competing in Sunday’s Championship Round.
