In the saddle bronc riding, it is two Canadians who have been making moves. With the Calgary Stampede complete and Logan Hay taking home that Championship, he jumped to No. 9 in the PRCA World Standings while fellow Canadian Zeke Thurston’s impressive trip moved him up to No. 7.

Logan Hay started off his Calgary Stampede with an 81.5-point ride that earned him $1,500 and got him on the board. He followed it up with an 85.5 to finish third in the round and adding to his Calgary earnings. In Round 4 of his pool, Hay rode to be 86.5 points and secured his spot on Championship Sunday. Hay made it to the Final Four where his 89.5-point ride on Baby Kibitz landed him his first ever Calgary Stampede Championship and earned him enough money to jump to No. 9 in the World.

Zeke Thurston’s performance at the Calgary Stampede was impressive as well. Not only did he go on to Championship Sunday where he a barely missed making the Final Four by just half a point, but he won three of four rounds in Pool A. An 89.5 in Round 1, and 85 in Round 2, and an 89 in Round 3 made Thurston untouchable going into Round 4. Thurston ended up still adding to his earnings on Championship Sunday when he went for 84.5 points to finish strong and move up to No. 7 in the World.

Kade Bruno went on to win all at the first ever NFR Open in Colorado Springs. He won the first round with an 87.5 on Hi Lo ProRodeo’s Warhawk before he tied in Round 2 with an 82. It was an 85 in the Semifinals that moved Bruno onto the Final Round where a 90-point ride on Andrews Rodeo’s All or Nothin earned him almost $7,000. Bruno was the Average Champion as well and he now sits No. 8 in the World.

The No. 1 in the Resistol Rookie standings is Damian Brennan and he had an outstanding first trip to the Calgary Stampede. He won two of four rounds in Pool B and placed in Round 4 before he earned his spot on Championship Sunday with $13,000 to his name. Although it wasn’t the Short Go he was hoping for, Brennan’s success at the Calgary Stampede has him sitting one spot out of the top 15 in the World.
