Saddle Bronc Rider Kade Bruno Snags Round 1 Win at Inaugural NFR Open

The NFR Open in Pikes Peak has $1 million on the line and Kade Bruno earned more than $5,000 of that thanks to his Round 1 win on Thursday night.

Bruno was 87.5 points on Warhawk to beat out Ryder Wright’s 85.5. Bruno rode about five minutes after Wright did on Thursday.

“That horse is really good if you use here,” Bruno said. “This is one of the coolest rodeos I got to come to last year...To see it this full, its loud, the crowds are active. It’s just really fun to ride in front of a good crowd.”

The NFR Open took the place of the RAM National Circuit Finals. The Top 8 athletes in each event based on a two-head Average will advance to the tournament style Championship Round on Saturday night. You can watch it all on The Cowboy Channel and PRCA on Cowboy Channel+.
